Well, so much for business as usual, but let me plead my case here: I somehow got sick twice in the shortest month of the year (one stomach bug where I couldn't even keep down half a bowl of white rice, and one horrible cold I'm still fighting off). Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed the Knockout Kings 2001 month. I was going to post another video today showing off the illegal moves you can do to get yourself disqualified, but honestly, they're not that great (maybe it's just me, but I can barely tell what's happening). Video one has punching in the clinch, and elbows; Two has headbutts and what the game calls low blows, although they just look like, um, elbows. (Also, I couldn't pull the moves off for some reason, so that's me fucking up, not St. John being drunk or whatever.)

So that was February! March is going to be another Rumble Roses month (and, fair warning, my wife is flipping out for Mass Effect 3 coming out). As for April, we'll see - the current plan is another PS2 boxing game that rhymes with Glack and Gruised. Stay tuned :X

Unexpected Service Interruption

Well, as you may have seen last Saturday, I'm still fighting with this new Roxio game capture device; I dunno, I guess the video it outputs still looks pretty good, but since I'm a perfectionist and I don't know when to quit, I'm going to fight with it a little more. In any case, there may or may not be a video tomorrow. (Also, none of this is related to my wife ~~making me play knights of the old republic~~ enjoying Knights of the Old Republic with me.) At worst, we'll be back to normal in February, which is probably going to be another theme month; I don't want to give too much away, but, umm, I can't think of way to finish that sentence without giving it away. In any case, check back here tomorrow - what, like you have something better to do? - and on February 4th at the latest we'll be back in business.

It's Hideous ECW Wrestling Game Month!!!!!!!!

Yes, it's that time of the year again - put on your hideous holiday sweaters, make a nice fire, put on some Christmas music, and gather the whole family to watch low-polygon versions of Dawn Marie and Jazz punch each other in the groin.

December will have five Saturday videos, the first two being the relatively sane ECW Hardcore Revolution, and the last three being the dumpster-match craziness of ECW Anarchy Rulz (because poor literacy is kewl). These are some games I'd never played until just now, and although the graphics have aged about as well as any polygonal PlayStation 1 game, I am impressed at the sheer number of match types. We'll see how many of them I can show off in five videos (spoiler alert: five). Stay tuned.

Well, I'm back. How was the vacation? Awesome, thanks; We went to the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, and I finally got to go on Soarin', which holy shit, nobody cares about hearing about my vacation, do they? Also, jesus god, what the hell happened to the YouTube front page? And I thought them fucking around with the way the channels look was bad. Holy hell. It's that time of the year again - time to pay ten month's worth of mortgage payments to jet down to Disney's Polynesian Resort for 2 weeks of fun, sun, fun in the sun, sun's fun in the sun that has fun with the sun whose sun we are having fun with.

Ahem. As you can tell, I'm excited. As noted, pretty much at least the first half of November is going to be a wash. I'll try to upload a 100% body 0% muscle match for Thanksgiving and make some lame jokes about how they all ate a lot of turkey and mashed potatoes ha ha etc. Otherwise upload activity is probably going to be pretty light, and responding to comments/messages is going to be not at all during the first half and at a slower pace during the second half (okay, who yelled "is that even possible"). Wish me a nice vacation, and if you see a slouching guy who needs to shave with his wife with big boobs in the Polynesian, yes, I will sign autographs.

2011's remaining schedule

You may have noticed there was no WAS 2 video this week; The simple fact is that I'm running short of WAS 2 requests, so these might get cut down to every other week or just filled with my own whims in terms of matchups, depending on how I'm feeling.

So what about Saturday videos? Well, you may disagree with me here, but I have to say Supremacy MMA was kind of a bust; Turns out neither one of the female fighters has any submissions at all (!). I mean, I could do story mode, but it's basically just the same fight over and over again. I was kind of hoping to get a little more material from it, but those are the breaks. So what's on tap?

Well, October is probably going to be business as usual, which is to say Rumble Roses on Saturday and, like above, possibly every other WAS 2 on Wednesday. I'm working on some side projects, but I wouldn't expect to see any of them until 2012. (Wait, you want to know what I'm actually working on? Okay, you talked me into it - Knockout Kings, Black and Bruised, and Ready 2 Rumble Round 2 for the PS2, primarily.)

Why won't any of these be ready in November or December, you ask? Well, November is going to mostly be a wash; I'm going on vacation to Disney to celebrate the second anniversary of my wife turning 29, and I'm going to be gone like 17 days or something ridiculous, and when I get back both Skyrim and Saint's Row 3 are going to be waiting for me, so I don't anticipate that November's going to be terribly productive.

December, however, I am cooking up another theme month. Let's just say you may not want to remember getting dismembered in December. Although you probably wouldn't be able to remember anything because you'd probably be dead after getting dismembered. Anyway, stay tuned.

Supremacy MMA is here, tonight!

Well, Supremacy MMA kept getting delayed, so imagine my surprise to find a copy of it on my doorstep Friday. Luckily the game has a simulation mode, so I recorded two CPU vs CPU matches. I'm debating doing an entire career mode; The problem with having your game only have two women and no create-a-fighter and making it so the women can only fight each other is that the career mode looks like this:

Whoever you picked: After I beat up (whoever you didn't pick), I was ready to head back East. Imagine my surprise when my trainer called up and told me (whoever you didn't pick) wanted a rematch. I was going to say no until I heard that she said I had a big butt and my butt smelled and I liked to kiss my own butt.

Whoever you picked: After I beat (whoever you didn't pick) again, I thought I was ready to head back east, but...

Anyway, you can see where I'm going with this. What I'd really like to show off more than the story mode is the submission system, but the CPU doesn't seem to want to cooperate with this; I can slam the computer down and start punching and kneeing them, but actually getting a submission hold on is difficult; Even making the opponent a "second player" another controller where I never touch any buttons, the instructions for putting on submission holds doesn't seem to work, and in all the fights I've simmed, the fighters will slam each other on the mat once in a while, but they just elbow and knee each other. This might just be because the two female's fighting styles are kickboxing and muay thai, but I'll keep plugging away and see what I can come up with. In the mean time, enjoy this week's match, and uh, you may not want to watch next week's if you're squeamish.

Now a super quick service advisory: The Ryona Kingdom is located in beautiful upstate NY, so we're in the path of Irene, although by the time it gets here it should be down to Tropical Storm levels and not actual hurricane strength. We're not supposed to get hit until Sunday morning, so the last WCW Backstage Assault should be up on time, but if your good pal RyonaKing isn't seen or heard from after that, well, I'm probably cursing loudly by candlelight. (More likely, nothing's going to happen, which is what I'm hoping for, since I have exactly zero preparations in case something does go wrong.)

It's Hideous WCW PlayStation Wrestling Game Month!!!!!!

Oh, fuck. Here we go. Yes, it's WCW playstation wrestling game month! The card is:

August 6th: WCW Nitro

August 13th: WCW Thunder

August 20: WCW Backstage Assault

August 27: WCW Backstage Assault again

Now I'm gonna be really honest here: Nitro and Thunder are garbage. I'm sure these were more impressive when they came out, and I'm willing to forgive the graphics since every polygonal game on the PlayStation that isn't Final Fantasy VIII is hideous, but the gameplay - my god, the gameplay. I've been spoiled silly by Smackdown's sensible and easy to use controls where you have a button to lock up; Nitro and Thunder have WWF Warzone-style moves where you press < O O or v X X or whatever to do a piledriver, and everybody has the same moves and god damn it is bad. And that's leaving out the insanity of having random wrestlers do run-ins (the first trial match I wrestled, Rey Mysterio ran in to beat up one of the Nitro girls).

Backstage Assault I perversely actually like the best, even though it's a mess of a game. I'm just gonna come out and admit it - I kind of love Backstage Assault just for the novelty value. In this era of PG-rated WWE games where DIVAS can't use weapons at all, it's just downright fucking weird being able to boot this game up and make Stacy Keibler kill Torrie Wilson by repeatedly hitting her over the head with a ceramic sink or iron bar.

So that's what you have to look forward to; I await with baited breath your angry comments and annoyed emoticons. This is truly going to be the greatest month in the history of our sport('s hideous decade old WCW wrestling games)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big news: Next month -August, assuming I live that long with this heat wave - is going to have a special theme. No Rumble Roses videos on Saturday; All four Saturday videos are going to be very, very special. What is it, you ask? It's not Game Boy Boxing Month (still working on recording those). So what then? Well, let's just say that these four Saturdays may very well be the greatest nights in the history of our sport. And if you enjoyed Hideous Playstation Boxing Game Month, you're really going to enjoy this, and you should also probably get your eyes checked.

Have I said too much? All right, more than that, you'll just have to wait and see. Cherish the next two Rumble Roses XX videos, they're the last ones you'll be seeing for a while. Stay tuned - the announcement will go up on the 5th of August, with the first video on the 6th. w00p

Well, I gotta admit I didn't think it was going to happen, but Chris Morgan finally lost, and in fact not only lost, but gave up. And who finally vanquished her? Well, if you can't tell from the image there, yes, it's Migiri. Although you now already know who won, if you haven't seen it yet, I recommend you check it out; It's quite a match, and I really thought it was all over once Migiri got hit with that second piledriver, but she really does have the heart of a champion.

So what now? I dunno; I like Migiri a lot, so I guess this is an excuse to put her in more videos. And I guess there's no need to keep the Chris challenge going; After the beating she took, she probably needs a few weeks to recover (if nothing else to ice her face after Migiri hit it with the dreaded flying ass smash).

So that's that - if you got any Migiri requests, hit me with 'em; She's earned her place in the spotlight.

Schedule musings

I've been thinking a bit about the video schedule; I'm pretty comfortable the way it is now with 2 a week, but I'm wondering if we're reaching the point where that's too many and it's just becoming numbing. Now don't get me wrong, I love Rumble Roses XX and it's basically custom made for people like me (and you, I'm assuming, if you're reading this) - but I wonder if it's getting over saturated; The fact that the customization is so bare-bones really limits how much you can do, and I feel like I've explored messing with the sliders/costumes almost as much as I can. This doesn't mean that RRXX videos would go away entirely, but maybe they might be cut down to one a month so they don't all blend together after a while.

So what then? Four WAS2 videos a month, one Rumble Roses XX video? I don't know; Then you risk overloading on WAS2, I think, although that game has so many charecters I think it's going to be quite a while before that happens. What I'd really like to do is maybe switch to a one video a week format; WAS 2 - Rumble Roses XX - WAS 2 - video from another game. (Maybe that's a little complicated, but what the fuck; You people are smart, you'll figure it out.)
Of course that leaves the question what "video from another game" entails. What I'd like to do is track down every sports game with ladies you can pair up in existance and see if I can make videos out of them. The downside is that videos like this take much longer to produce. Put aside the difficulty in getting the game and unlocking the ladies in the first place (which is annoyingly applicable) - there's still technical issues, and more troubling to me, the actual playing of the game. After grinding for money for 400+ hours in Rumble Roses I can probably play it in my sleep (it got to the point where I could literally win a tag match with my eyes closed). It's not so bad if there's a CPU versus CPU mode, but if there isn't - here I'm casting a sidelong glance at Wade Hixon's Counter Punch - I'd prefer to actually display a tiny amount of skill, if only enough so that the game doesn't look like indiscriminate flailing.
All that being said, the method I prefer is to present a bunch of games, and whichever one strikes a cord I can record more of (so make sure you leave comments/send requests if you see a game you want more videos made out of).

So that's what I'm thinking of doing. If you have any comments, by all means let me know - I tend to lean towards whoever I'm hearing from at the moment, and I doubt most people have read this far, so your opinion will probably have some weight. I'm still thinking this all over, so I dunno when this switch is going to take place - probably pretty soon since I'm running low on Rumble Roses videos. I might, if I can find any spare time, record Gameboy Boxing Game Month, and then when that's over go into the new schedule. Or, of course, this could happen
and I'll be sent to prison for bitches for the rest of my life; We'll see.

How Do You Solve a Problem Like Chris Morgan?

Chris Morgan, female Hulk Hogan, is almost unbeatable. Chris - which is a boy's name!!! - despite having her power turned down to one, has cut quite a swath through the ranks of wrestlers so far. She's cruelly stomped Suzumi Ishikawa, Win Mirror, Ledy Cody, Rose Hewitt, Dynamite Rin, Beauty Ichigaya, Panther Risako, Anny Beach and most recently destroyed Giantslayer Noel Shirashi even though Noel's birthday present to me was trying to win =[

So what to do about it? Well, since the Giantslayer herself went down to birthday defeat, I'm aching to see someone capable of beating Chris. Like I said up at the beginning, I've been turning her power down to 1, but WAS 2's power settings for some reason have almost no effect on forgein wrestlers; I assume in management mode you can build up a wrestler to give Chris the beating she so richly deserves, but in exhibition mode, she's an unstoppable beast.

Now you might be surprised to hear that Chris actually was defeated - squashed, no less! - by of all people Shinobu Echigo way back in WAS 1. The only wrestler who's been able to defeat her in 2 is Dark Star Chaos. Suggested wrestlers to try are Migiri Ozora, Thunder Ryuko, and Bunny Bomber; Migiri's bigger than Chris, Ryuko's very tough, and Bunny Bomber has bigger boobs than Chris, but I have my doubts that any of them are going to be able to defeat her.

However - whoever can defeat Chris will not only have endless bragging rights, but also, I don't know, I guess the right to appear in more videos? I already used up my commission fund for this year, so I can't afford to have her immortalized in art, but she'll probably be appearing in more videos. Chrislayer whoever. Stay tuned, although don't hold your breath that Chris is going to stay down for the 3 any time soon.

Where'd the top comments go?

One kind of post I unforchies can't do anymore is "Top Comments", mostly because trolls no longer seem to hang around my videos. Admittedly, there are still people hit and running with stuff like "gay" and "wtf" and there are some great comments. Just at random, ones I've seen recently: "in pro wrestling, this move is called the cameltoe clutch" and "HOW THE FUCK CAN U DISLIKE THIS".

The issue I have there is that these aren't negative if not always complimentary; I feel like the gag only works if I have a grandiose introduction about the frank exchange of ideas and thoughtful comments to follow, and then straight-facedly present a bunch of people calling myself or other viewers GAY FAGZ or sad bastards. This may partly be my own fault; I can't remember if I've been banning trolls from commenting or not, but that may be why they're gone. Cue sad face: =(

That being said, I did see an absolutely great comment that I'm going to try and work into conversations whenever possible:

General schedule & video & ampersand update

Not a lot going on right now; Supremacy MMA's coming out in June, which will yield two videos (Video 1: Felice "Lil Dog" Herrig vs Michele "Diablita" Gutierrez; Video 2: Michele "Diablita" Gutierrez vs Felice "Lil Dog" Herrig) and I'll probably be making some videos out of the PlayStation "Kickboxing" game (which is apparently similar to playstation "Boxing" game, amazing graphics and all). There's some other stuff I'm tinkering with, but it's all on the back burner for right now. Instead, I thought it'd be fun to count up how many videos I have in the can and waiting to post. (drumroll)

Wrestle Angel Survivor 2 has 11 videos - 2 months and 3 weeks' worth - currently ready to go. I actually cleared out my to-be-recorded list, so this is a good time to make a request; It should be recorded right away, even if it isn't posted for 3 months.

Rumble Roses XX has 15 videos - 3 months and 3 weeks' worth - waiting to be uploaded. (Not including one relaxing video that's just a tag team breathing after the match is over). If you have any simple requests, this is a good time for them, as all I have left on my to-record list is big tag matches or single-move specials, which take hours to set up, record, and edit into one six-minute video. Ugh.

So that's that - another Rumble Roses XX Picture Pack will be coming soon, and if anybody knows a good PlayStation emulator that can both use DexDrive saves and record video easily, drop me a line. (Don't suggest epsxe, please; Darn thing crashed my computer last time I tried it.) Rar!

Our hero is struck down

Here's some advice from me: Don't get the stomach flu. Had I been able to peer into the future to follow my own advice, I'd be much happier right now. But I didn't, and now it's too late. While I'm laid out drinking ginger ale and eating toast, there's going to be pretty much no activity (comments, personal messages, etc) and this includes, sadly, no videos. Isn't it sad?

I first got sick on Tuesday, so hopefully this won't last too long (don't get me started on how sick I am of toast already). Today (5/4) definitely won't have a video, and it's not looking so hot for Saturday the 7th either. After that I'll either be cured or go to the doctor. Yerg.

Thank god that's over with! Now back to my healthy diet of fried chicken, red peppers, pasta, and BLs (BLT without the T). Hell yeah!

New video recording device!

Second in a row Red the fuck Alert! There's a **NEW** device for capturing footage from a console that I suggest you L@@K at - the super imagnitively titled "Game Capture". Check it out here. Admittedly, it's a little bit pricey, but I'm glad to see this. I never got why Adaptec stopped making Gamebridges so quick, so here's hoping Roxio keeps this in production a little longer. Actually, this looks pretty much like a Gamebridge, but the connection is Component instead of the gamebridge Composite. Of course, who knows if you'll be able to tell the difference once YouTube is done manhandling the footage, but it can't hurt. Even better, this thing looks like it works under 7 and Vista, whereas the Gamebridge drivers only work on XP. Unlike the previous post, I don't really care if you get this or not, just thought I'd pass it along. If you do end up getting it, Roxio gave me a coupon code that should save you some cash when you check out: FRIENDS10

I'll tell you right out that I already purchased this game and it's pretty good. The author plays with the POV perspective in a refreshing way, and really, people, we're not gonna get more of these games if you don't go out and buy the ones that are already out! (All right, my only caveat: You're playing as a submissive, so even on the "I admit I'm a worm, don't hit me so hard" difficulty mode, I got my ass beat twice. Aw.) I might see about doing a playthrough for a YT video, but I'm probably gonna ask the author first out of courtesy - I'm not sure if he wants some of the stuff to stay as surprises. Now go check it out!

Oh, PS: Arcana Heart 3 is also out on the PSN. (Get Dream Knockout first, it's half the price)

March is Mirror Match Madness Month! Moo!

Well, I think that went pretty well - Knuckle Pine month is all wrapped up, and it's no longer -7 degrees outside on a daily basis. Ugh. You may have noticed that Wrestle Angel Survivor hasn't been getting much attention here lately; Ever since TryFirst took down the roster pages, there's not really much to add, and while I'm still working on an update pack for the big image bomb from back when, that's way on the back burner.

However! A mirror match posted a while back seemed to be a big hit, so what the fuck: March is officially Mirror Match Month for WAS 2. Now, did I make March Mirror Match Month because I'm a alliteration-appreciating American? Affirmative . Anyway, each WAS 2 match in March will be a mirror match. As for the Saturday videos, I'm not so sure yet. I have a half-recorded idea to make Persona vs Persona matches in Rumble Roses, where the normal and Superstar versions of the face personality team up against the normal and superstar versions of the heel personality. In a case where there's barely any difference (Dr A, I'm looking at you) it's just a fatal four-way. Except that of course I have ten of those, and there's only four Saturdays. So fuck it, I dunno what I'll do yet. You'll just have to stay tuned, I guess.

Finally some good news! UFC Undisputed 20xx doesn't have them, EA Sports MMA (stupidly) doesn't have them, but finally - finally!! - they annouced Supremacy MMA is going to have some representatives of the other half of the world's population: Chicks. Apparently, it will include just two fighters - and I'm not looking my gift horse in the mouth here - and they are (drumroll):

Felice "Lil Dog" Herrig and Michele "Diablita" Gutierrez!

(Not pictured above: Either one of these women. Real MMA fighters have cornrows or short hair, and probably not as much eye makeup.) No word yet on any kind of create a fighter, but that's just icing, as far as I'm concerned. W00p

Knuckle Pine Dash review

Knuckle Pine Dash
Price (as of early 2010): $12.66

Amazingly, the basic premise between Knuckle Pine and Knuckle Pine Dash is the same: Get in the ring with Pine, and if you beat her, you get to put your thingie in her you know what. If you lose, you get laughed at in a Duck Hunt-esque manner and you have to go home to, I guess, pleasure yourself, or maybe sleep with your wife. Unless she was watching the match and won't sleep with you either. Ladies like a winner. Unless this is H/C fic.

Man, I'm way off topic already. So the basic objective is the same, but some of the details have changed. Instead of just boxing until one of you is knocked out, you now go three rounds with Pine, and whoever has more health left at the end is victorious. (I'd really like to know who's judging these matches, by the way.) In the case of a tie, Pine is awarded the bout. I personally find this to be a little weird; The first game, I thought, had kind of a underground boxing type of feel, where two combatants get in the ring, Pine putting her body on the line, and you putting, uh, I guess your pride, or maybe your face if you get beaten up. Having three rounds - and judges; that sill blows my mind - kinda dilutes this whole atmosphere a little bit. I mean, there isn't even an audience, as far as I can see; Maybe in the first game you and Pine just met in a boxing ring to settle your differences. But what's happening now? All right, I'll tell you, what's happening now is that I'm thinking about this way too much. Oh, and uh, also, between rounds, both of you can get your health back (by picking random cards, same interface as how you box.)

In addition, Pine has been hitting the gym in between games; While she's something of a puss in the original game, she's now quite a tough cookie, and you'll probably win as often as you lose. Both of you now have super punches (marked as a V on the cards). If you draw a V and she doesn't, she gets pounded. If she draws a V and you don't, she knocks your punches out of the way and throws a punch in your face. If you both draw a V, you both go crazy punching each other.
Lastly, you can remove both Pine's top and bottom by clicking in between her boobs and just above her panties, respectively, although removing each piece will make you take as much damage as a super punch as Pine is scandalized by your ungentlemanly behaviour.

Now this all sounds good, but I don't think the three round match length really works to the game's advantage. In the original game, it's easy to forgive the fact that there's no skill involved and you're just picking numbers because the match is over so fast. It's harder to ignore this during a three-round slugfest. It can become particuarlly annoying if you find that you're losing the match, or if you want a specific outcome like winning on points; There's no way to take it easy on Pine, and there's no way to do better, just keep picking numbers. To this day I've still never won on points because you can't run the clock out. The only thing you can do to actually effect the match is to deliberately click Pine's clothes off, which is dangerous since she gets a free super punch.

Other than that there's the H-mode; I think you can do more things than just zoom zoom in her boom boom, but I'll be fucked if I can figure out how. There's also endless boxing mode.

If it seems like I complained a lot, well, I did. Maybe these are all minor complaints, but since (spoiler alert) they're fixed in 3, I'd have to recommend you either pick up the original and save $4 or get a paper route to afford the extra $6 you'd have to pay to get the third game.

Recommended? Gosh, don't you read? I humbly recommend you pick up 1 or 3, kid.

RRXX Singles Tournament Wrapup

Final word on the tournament! Sgt. Clements was the victor, defeating Noble Rose, who I have to admit I'm amazed made it to the finals. Sista A came in second winning her loser's bracket match. (There's a lot of upset Candy Cane fans out there, so we'll put that down as unfinished business for now.) In addition to her grand prize of nothing, Sgt. Clements will also be reciving this commission of her victorious over poor old Noble Rose, courtesy of DK Studios (who I highly recommend for all your commissioning needs; tell her RK sent you). Behold:

And that's that! As a final note, it looks like there's some interest in a tag tournament, so I'll probably record that one of these years; Since the entire singles tournament just got posted, it'll probably be a while to avoid overload. There's two one issues I can see: One is that RRXX tag matches are long as fuck, since the computer can keep doing "RESCUE" interrupts forever, and does. Hopefully YT will actually raise my upload limit beyond 15 minutes one of these years.

The second issue is number of teams; Putting each wrestler into a tag team yields five teams. One of them can get a bye into the next round, but that means Round 2 will have three tag teams. Likewise, I can add an extra team comprised of both forms of Lady X, making six teams in Round 1, but that also produces three teams in Round 2. The alternative is cutting a team and starting with four in Round 1 - but I dunno who to cut. I can't cut Benikage without also cutting Anesthesia. Well, no need to sweat it out now. You know what month kicks off with the first video today. Check it out; I'll know if you don't.

It's Knuckle Pine Jelly Time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A commenter on one of the tournament videos asked what Knuckle Pine is, and seeing as how it's now offically Knuckle Pine month, here's the short answer for all you noobs out there: It's a series of three first-person boxing games in which you box with, and then have loving intercourse with, a lady boxer named Pine who apparently has decided this is how she's going to become the next Mike Tyson, or maybe she just can't admit she likes you and wants to see how far you'll go to get in her blue bikini bottoms. You can see a detailed review of the first in the series here. I've been meaning to review the other two (see this post for a list of all the DL site reviews) - so look for that this month. Also, valentine's day is this month, and luckily since I've already decided on the theme of Pine's various games, I don't have to try to come up with some kind of special valtentine's day video. Boom.

Anyways, that's all the big news, if you count "I'm finally going to post reviews of the other two Pine games" as big news, which I guess nobody does. That's probably medium-small news. However, I'd also like to use this opportunity for a disclaimer: No matter how nicely you ask, unfortunately, I can't provide free copies of any of these games. The artists who make them aren't going to continue to produce games if everyone downloads them for free instead of purchasing them. And besides, these aren't $60 investments - as of this writing, the first game in the series is a whopping $8, and the final game in the series is under $20. If these games were hard to get ahold of, that would be one thing, but all you need is a credit card and $8 to download them from the english DL Site. Or maybe even a debit card. Does that work?
I guess I'm rambling, so let me wrap this up: Because of YouTube's policy that you can show a woman getting cut in half but you can't show her nipples, Pine's boobs will not be appearing in any of the videos. If you don't want to buy the games but want to see her breasts, check this post, which also includes a behind the scenes look at recording videos that you don't have to read. Rumble Roses XX Image Quality Upgrade!

I've been using my Gamebridge to capture downloaded pictures off the xbox, but it turns out there's a way to get much higher quality. The details are in this GameFAQs post, and holy hell, do the images look better using this method. All you need is a 2 gig USB drive and half an hour to download the .net framework (use 3.5 - version 2.0 barfed up a storm) and you, too, can export your own screenshots. Of course, since you just need half an hour and a 2 gig USB drive, it's now easy for you to do this yourself. Even so, I'm gonna keep posting these collections, for all you lazy people; Lazy people are my people. I'll stop tagging the image packs with "exclusive content", as if anyone's paying attention to the tags anyway. Once I get the latest 203 downloaded screenshots all zipped up and on Megabuttload and Crapidshare, they'll be on here. (And Photobucket, too, but I think it's too late to set up a password on the photobucket folder and taliban nazi Photobucfacists like deleting the racier photos). In my eternal quest for games to turn into videos, I'm always monitoring my network of informants for new games coming out. Unforchies, they've really dried up over the years; I could go on all day listing the male-only series, but I have to admit that every time there's a new Fight Night or EA Sports MMA or Supremacy MMA or Lucha Libre game I always hope this will be the one to have some fucking women in it. But, of course, the death of many Bothans is always in vain as they're always sausage parties. You can probably already tell that the rest of this post isn't going to be good news, but WWE has annouced a new series of games. The short version of the news can be seen in the URL:

Here's the slightly longer version:

I checked out WWE All Stars last week, and noticed that there wasn't a single female fighter on the roster. So I asked Mike McTyre, one of the producers on the game, why we won't be seeing the lovely Divas of past and present.
"It was simply a matter of scope," Mike told me. "We really strive for quality of animation, you know, smoothness. Even though the moves are over-the-top, making them all believable, they all came from motion-capture to start with; nothing was hand-keyed. Then the animators had to smooth them out, amplify them and make them over-the-top. To do that would require a massive amount of additional tech and all-new motion capture on a female skeleton, as opposed to the male skeletons."

This is, in a word, bullshit. In the comments hidden between various HURP DURP I WOULD HAVE SEX WITH HER messages about the header image was a link to an article that sums up my feelings quite succiently - although it's talking about Brink, you could also apply it to Crackdown 1, Crackdown 2, and all the games listed above. I suggest you Read the Whole Thing (TM), but I'll quote the most important part here:

Now I can certainly understand the realities of operating under a budget and the drive to turn out the best product possible, but I have to admit that there's something very disturbing to me about having a choice between fifty different pieces of upper torso clothing or including an entire gender, and then deciding to go with the clothing. What does such a decision say about the attitude of Brink's developers, and the studio itself? What message will be taken away by female players who check out the game only to discover that they haven't been given any representation? Not including female avatar options might have seemed like nothing more than a practical choice to Splash Damage, but taking a look at the bigger societal picture and the changing face of today's gaming constituency, it's pretty clear to me that more that should've been taken into account.
Inclusion and respect, or outfits and haircuts? I'll take the former, thanks.

Rumble Roses Good Vs Bad Tournament Round 3

Last round, the good girls were facing a formidable task, with only two of them left facing off against six bad girls. Lo and behold, they won both of their matches, and now in the semifinals it's all evened up - one good and one bad girl will wrestle in each match for the honor of moving on to the finals. The matchups:

1/8: Sgt. Clements vs Makoto
1/15: Noble Rose vs Sista A
1/22: Final!

The two winning girls will meet up in the finals; The winner will, of course, receive a special prize if I can work up the courage to pay someone on deviantart to draw her covering her nether regions with the championship belt. Boom!

I'm going to try and post a palette cleanser in between the round that's just concluded and the semifinals (Jan 1st); However, I'm running low on completed videos, so, uh, we'll see. Either way, stay tuned!

I just realized January has FIVE Saturdays in 2011; No idea what's going to run on the last week (February will be starting Knuckle Pine month). Fuck!

It'll be Noble Rose vs Sgt. Clements for the whole bag of chips on 1/22. People have expressed an interest in having a match between Candy and Sista A to see who comes in as first runner-up, so I'm going to record that as well. Since the Knuckle Pine series (FINALLY) turned out so well, I thought I'd go for a P4-esque ONE MORE! and try to get some Panda Moderns videos, one each of On the Ropes and Pit Viper. (Thus the image for this post. Get it? [Spoilers: It's a panda]) Unforchies, these aren't Flash games like the Pine series; They're stand-alone exes, and both of them are too processor-intensive for my piece of shit old PC I've been using to record windows game footage with. (My new computer is a beast that can handle it easily, but I can't make Hypercam record any sound). The resulting videos are de-synched; The On the Ropes one is just plain desynched, but Pit Viper's video is totally destroyed, in a way that I actually find kind of funny. So, sorry, Panda Moderns, no free advertising. Well, unless people are reading this blog post and go click on the links up there. Heh. Anyway, I might be able to use Fraps since these are standalone EXEs (which is the whole reason I was using Hypercam in the first place - Fraps doesn't recognize the Pine exes as games). We'll see; I already used up half a day futzing with these (my cat helped by running in and hitting the one exact button on the keyboard that stops recording in the middle of the first Pit Viper video). Anyway, here's the messed up videos for your enjoyment. On the Ropes isn't too spectacular (in fact I'm not sure why I uploaded it), but take a peek at Pit Viper. Yeeee.

Pine's Bikini Top Stays in the Picture

Finally some good news! You might remember the trouble I was having making some postable (IE, no nipples, which is clearly the number one thing to worry about nowadays) videos out of the Knuckle Pine series of DL Site games. Turns out there was an obvious solution I was missing: Just re-record the matches until Pine actually keeps her top on. In the second game, it will come off if you hit Pine with a strong enough punch (kids, don't try this at home), so I just recorded matches until I had a run of terrible luck at picking numbers and went down to defeat with her youtube-acceptability destroying boobs safely covered. Viola! This might be the only case in history where the starlet's big break comes when the director convinces her to keep her clothes on.

That takes care of the first two games; The third one, Knuckle Pine Turbo, which I got two videos of (I need four total - one video of the first game, one of the second game, and two of the last game makes a month), doesn't have Pine's top fly off, so that was easy. It took a lot of work, but they're all in the can. As an aside, I really do mean to review more DL Site games, but I'll just tell you now that Knuckle Pine Turbo really makes the second game look bad with some commonsensical fixes (I don't include Pine's top no longer randomly coming off a fix, although it did help me record these videos). So that's probably coming up after the RRXX Tournament wraps, which should be - February? Dang, kid. Well, stay tuned until then and enjoy the tournament. I'll know if you don't.

Rumble Roses Good Vs Bad Tournament Round 2

Well, Round 1 is in the can, and I have to assure that even though I like bad girls, I'm as surprised at the results as all of you are. The good girls have been decimated. Out of eight possible slots, only two good girls survived; Makoto and Noble Rose are the only two faces in the entire tournament, facing down no less than six heels. The only good news for the forces of light is that there are so many heels two matchups in this round are heel vs heel, which means at least two are going to be eliminated for the next round. Of course, if two other matches go the wrong way, there will be only naughtiness left.

Next week is probably going to be a break from Rumble Roses videos (since we just had 8 in a row for Round 1). That also means the last match of Round 2 will be uploaded on Christmas, however, which seems a little weird, doesn't it? Well, I dunno, it's not like I have any other videos to post. Huh. Well, we'll see - hit thatdrumroll, please. The matches, pulled out of a hat, are:

Knuckle Pine Censored Boxing (Update: Mother FUCKER)

For a while I've been considering recording some more Windows games; Total Knockout Boxing was a big hit, even though the video quality wasn't the greatest. I've settled on doing Knuckle Pine boxing month, with a match each from Knuckle Pine and Knuckle Pine Dash, and one each from Turbo (which you can apparently play single-round style like the original Knuckle Pine, or three-round style like Dash). This involved a long saga I won't recount here about getting Hypercam 2 to actually record sound, and then getting to record sound that is, you know, synched. With those issues finally vanquished, I was able to records some videos. Knuckle Pine 1 went off without a hitch and I'll lead off the series with that. In Knuckle Pine 2, though, Pine lost her top two minutes into a six minute video, and then she loses her bottoms for good measure. Since YouTube doesn't allow DISGUSTING NIPPLES - clearly, the human body is gross and should be hidden from view - this presents something of a problem. I tried using Windows Movie Maker to censor Pine's protrusions, but that didn't work at all. I got a free program called VideoPad, which works, kinda, but it's very imprecise; you can't make a censor bar and put it wherever you want, you have to add text and add spaces, and it'll add a bar of empty space, like " ". But you can't drag around where this bar is, you have to futz with it by changing the font size, hitting spacebar to make the bar longer, and hitting Enter to double its size. So you get something like this:

Now that's bad but not terrible. What's taking so long is that you have to split the clip every time you want the bar size to change, which it does a lot, since hitting your most powerful attack on Pine send her and her bare boobs flying, and on top of that she starts dancing around the ring later. So the video is, I'm afraid, going to be kind of, uh, bizzare looking. But consarn it, I spent hours getting Hypercam to work with synched motherfucking audio, so I'm going to use it. However, since I can just post the raw uncensored movies on like Rapidshare or Megaupload, I'll put up a download link to the original, un-censored versions on here. Oof!

Anyways, I guess this is all a little premature since this won't be going up until the Rumble Roses XX Singles tournament is finished, and that's got a while to run (Round 1 wraps up on 11/20, and then there's still seven videos to go - a week short of two months). The upside is that gives me a lot of time to procrastinate; I've been trying to censor this six minute video all day and I'm maybe a third done. I need an intern.

Well, you might be wondering where Wednesday's WAS 2 video is (although since the views for those are down to like 220 per video, maybe not that many of you are). I could make up an awesome, good-looking lie like I was out saving orphans by defeating gangs of roving nazi bikers in brutal hand-to-hand combat, but the truth is, I came home from work, put in New Vegas, and played that until I basically passed out. So yes, I just plumb forgot. Actually, I'm kind of surprised it hasn't happened sooner! Anyway, it's a little late to upload the video now, I think, so to make up for it, I'm gonna upload TWO videos next Wednesday (10/27); I'll upload one in the morning before I leave for work, about 8 AM EST, so after processing it should be ready during the day; if you're bored for 4:37 on your lunch break, you can check it out. SHOCKING TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

People have been asking what the next match is going to be in the RRXX Heel vs Face tournament, and I've, honestly, been dodging the question, or admitting I don't know. Now hear me out: The way the tournament is set up is Noble Rose vs Ana, then each heel versus her face persona in order of how they appear on the character select screen. Easy, right? Here's the sticking point: I forgot what order they appear on the select screen. Yes, me, the guy who's played this game for 500 hours, can't remember what order the girls are on the select screen, so I can't remember what orders the girls appear in. So, uh, I guess I'll take a screenshot of the select screen, then I can give a schedule for the first round matches. I might even use MS Paint to draw up a cheap-ass roster graphic, that might be fun. That should be up in a day or two, so stay tuned for an ** Update ** with that information here (or, of course, if you already have the game, you can just fire up the select screen and spoil yourself, you stinker, you).

Well, here's a post I hate to make. My xbox live gamertag isn't much of a secret, and up until now I've been generally accepting friend requests from YouTube or other places. Unforchies, I'm gonna have to start turning these down unless I already know you, mostly thanks to the following goofy messages I got from someone who I think is mistaking me for someone else. Before I'd played any matches with this person, I got this:

I'll admit that I turn notifications off so I don't have SO AND SO HAS SIGNED IN popping up while I'm recording videos, so I'm sure I did miss a match invite from this person, which, you'll agree, definitely calls for a unhinged message like this. (Also, you know who else missed match requests? ADOLF HITLER)

There's one more message that I wish I'd saved, but I think I accidentally deleted it when blocking this nut. It signed off with a great "FUCK YOU" and accused me of "only saying negative things" (maybe he hates question marks). The long and short is, I simply don't have time to deal with drama from butthurt weirdos like this. I'm sure 99% of you out there are great people, but all it takes is one guy pissing in the soup to convince me to close the friend requests, and here we are. Sry, but it's closed until further notice. I've also gone through the list and removed anyone I don't remember playing with recently; you know who to thank for that.

Double X Tournament!

So you might remember the Rumble Roses XX Singles Tournament, which got interrupted by Mr Seagate pulling a blarg im ded. The good news is my wife's addicted to Civ V, which means I can use the xbox to record the tournament, so it's pretty much all in the can at this point. Barring any disasters, the first match should go live Saturday, October 2nd. The first round is 8 matches, so it will span every Saturday of October and November. The first match, going up the 2nd (of October; man that's a confusing sentence), will pit Noble Rose against Anasteshia; The other seven opening round matches will be all the other girls except Yasha/Benikage, face persona versus heel persona. After that names will be picked out of a hat (possibly literally) to determine the second round matchups. I'm going to market this as a Face vs Heel tournament, although since I'm leaving it up to the CPU, who knows how many faces and heels are going to be left by the second round?

The winner of the tournament will receive nothing (lololol), because there's really nothing to give, unfortunately; I could put the title on her, but you wouldn't be able to tell anyway. Maybe I'll scrape up $15 to commission the winner wearing a title belt and nothing else from someone on DeviantArt or something.*

So that's that - stay tuned. Wednesday WAS programming will continue as usual. I know the area on my YT page listing the current status of WAS requests is way out of date, but I don't have time to update it right now. I need an intern around here or something.

Wrestle Angel picture annoucement (and I'm back)

Yeah, I'm back. It was fun. I got TWO bomb-ass Pope snowglobes for various people. That bad news is I have an ear infection, or something; I went to the Drs and they couldn't even see what was wrong because of a blockage, so they shot hydrogen peroxide into my ear, and some of it got past the blockage into my ear canal and it hurt like a motherfucker. I won't say more because I'm sure nobody wants to hear me being earhurt, but suffice to say, my left ear kind of feels like I got punched in the side of the head by a lady centaur. So don't take it personally if I'm a little grumpy.

ANYWAY, here's the WAS picture news: Of course as soon as I posted the picture pack, I found a bunch more pictures, so I'm going to prepare a supplemental pack. I don't think it's going to be big enough to be a "Vol 2", so we'll just call it supplemental. (Yes, this is the kind of stuff I worry about.) No videos will be posted while I'm in Europe, so there will be no new videos from when I leave on September 11 (yes, I'm flying out on September 11, and no, I didn't notice why the tickets were so cheap until after I had the tickets) and return on September 18. Although I might be jetlagged out and just go to bed on the 18th; we'll see. If you're bored, go back and watch some of the recent videos over again; I worked hard on those, ya know, and the view counts are going down. Hmph!!

Well, guess whose hard drive went and fucking died with no warning? Yeah. The last time this happened, the drive started slowly dying, and I was able to copy everything off it. THIS time, it just went "lol im ded" and everything on it is gone.

You may also want to notice the time stamp on that last post: January 2010. It's now August 2010. You can figure out how long my piece of shit new external HD lasted. Fucking Seagate piece of shit. Thanks for the seven whole months you went without breaking. Don't buy Seagate, unless you want to end up like me, or the guy in that picture, or both of us. God damn it.

Anyway, so, new video recording's on hold while I re-download seven month's worth of ~~dirty videos~~ ~~pirated games~~ home movies and software that fell off the back of a truck. So that tournament mentioned one post down is probably going to be a while. Until then, there's still a lot of matches in the can for you to enjoy.

There's been some interest (spoilers: two people) in a Rumble Roses tournament, which got me thinking. Originally someone was asking about a tag tournament; I'd really like to do one of these, but RRXX tag matches take for fucking ever, because of the endless RESCUE elbowdrops the computer spams, so I'm thinking maybe a single tournament. I'd like a Heel vs Face tournament, at least initially. I'd also like to get the number of entrants on each side down to 8 (devides much easier that way). I'm gonna eliminate Yasha/Benikage right off the bat, because she sucks, and she's tough as a wet noodle. I'm also gonna eliminate Evil Rose, because I don't like her and she has a 0% chance of winning the tournament; I'm also going to eliminate Dr Cutter, not because I don't like her, but because there's no difference aside outfits from Ana and Dr Cutter, and I have to get rid of another person to get down to 8 on 8.

So then, I have to think about how the initial round is gonna run; I could start it with each wrestler up against her alter ego (with the odd women out of Noble Rose and Ana taking each other on); After the first round, I have no idea who'd have won, so it'd be up to the CPU from there on in. I think that's the way it's going to go; that way past the first round you'll have only the face or heel version of a particular wrestler in the running.

Winner gets... well, I guess nothing, really. Reiko's the champ right now, but I don't know that there's a Non-Title Match option. Maybe beach matches? Ahh, we'll see. Anyway, stay tuned.

DLC & Slider Showcase

As we've been examining the sliders, you've hopefully gotten a good look at how exactly you can change the girl's apperance and stats. You can throw that all out for the DLC, because of a single, goofy property. It's logical to assume that when you put a DLC outfit on your rose, just the outfit gets applied to her body. Instead, the head and skin tone of the wrestler you have selected is applied to the body of the wrestler whose outfit you're putting on.

In other words, if you put Aisha's outfit on Reiko, you don't get Reiko and her humble B cups wearing Aisha's outfit - you get Reiko's head on Aisha's double D torso with her boobs spilling out the top and bottom. Yes, we're going to take a closer look - here's Rowdy Reiko wearing Aisha's outfit:

Crazy, right? If you use this carefully, you can really change the girls' body type far beyond what you can normally do with the sliders - put Benikage's head on Dixie's DLC outfit and vice versa, and suddenly you can have a ripped ninja versus a scrawny cowgirl. Of course, you're limited to the actual DLC outfits - I have to admit I'm more interested in playing around with outfits than body types, but there's a whole world of possibilities out there.

This week's video will be taking a closer look at the practical effects of messing with body types via the DLC - Rowdy Reiko, as you can see above, has committed the ultimate act of heelery in getting ridiculous implants, and Aisha has gotten totally needless breast reduction surgery.

Rumble Roses XX Slider Effect Explanageddon

Let's take a slightly closer look at the slider's effects on pre-made wrestlers. The video accompanying this post has 0 muscle/100 body Miss Spencer, opposite Candy, and everyone's favorite Lambda. I'm obviously more inclined towards the beefier wrestlers in this picture, but let's see how minimum body and max muscles looks on a heavier wrestler like Miss Spencer. (Spoilers: uggh.)
Well, that's just gross, isn't it? I dunno, if you can look at that and not be slightly repulsed, I just don't know what to say. Luckily, she doesn't look quite as, umm, nasty a little more up close:

Yeah, I dunno, this doesn't make me wanna barf, but it's just not my thing. Not too snuggly, right? Let's take a look at max body Candy.

That's better. Much snugglier.

Now you might be wondering: Besides apperance, what does futzing with the body/muscle sliders actually do? Right from the horse's mouth (okay, right from MrWhiteFolks on the GameFAQs board):

The difference in changes to muscle structure results in some slight (but noticeable) performance modifiers.

More Muscle::
The more muscle based structure you have, the more damaging your strikes, slams, and pinning attempt attacks will be. This is advantageous for characters that specialize in that type of combat (Dixie, Aisha, Aigle, etc), but it doesn't really help the submission or high flyer types much. This damage bonus also adds to the overall multiplier that is behind the scenes, giving you bonus damage whenever you attack the same body part repeatedly.

Example: If you do an attack that hurts the body of your opponent, after awhile that attack will start doing more damage. With more muscle, the damage output is increased on top of what you would normally receive for a damage bonus. Same goes for grapples, weapon strikes, Killers, Lethals, etc

Zero Muscle:
The less muscle your character has, the more flexible they become. What it does mean is that the flexibility of the limbs increasing allows you to stay in (and escape from) submissions far easier. It's a very subtle effect the developers put into the game (and in turn, they never really discussed it either), but if you have a character that already does decent damage (SS Aisha, for example) then by lowering her muscle mass you will make her better at surviving and/or escaping submission attempts.

Moveset:
This is a weird one, as most characters only receive a modification to their movesets if you have their weight at either maximum, or the most absolute minimum. Not really sure WHY this is the way it is, but the change in moves not only effects the standard attacks you can perform, it changes the Killer/Lethals' you have available as well.

Finally, remember when I said you can use the sliders to make pre-made wrestlers look terrible? Behold:

Rumble Roses XX Premade Wrestler Slider Explainopocalypse

If you remember our last post, we're going to take a look now at how the sliders effect the pre-made wrestlers. The answer is, not quite as much. Part of this, I think, is that you can't edit the girl's heights no matter what. Another is that the girls just seem to have set body types - you can crank Benikage's muscles and body to 100% (note: do not do this), but she's never going to be as big as, say, Dixie with the same sliders.

Not, of course, that the sliders don't have an effect. Let's take a look at minimum muscle, minimum body Makoto, shall we?

Actually, not that bad; Makoto tends towards the skinnier, flatter side, so she could look a lot worse with the sliders minimized. Okay, compare and contrast: Let's see BBD with 100% on both.

Ugh. Remember last post where I said,

RRXX's muscles never get like gross huge

? Yeah, that's before I made this. I like her better with meat on her bones, but Makoto with rippling bodybuilder muscles just looks kind of weird, doesn't it? Look how big her thighs are compared to her head. Of course, minimum slider Makoto up there has skinny chicken legs, so pick your poison.

Just to illustrate fully, this week's Saturday video is going to be 0% all Makoto vs 100% all BBD. Your lucky day, pedos and huge muscle fans. (Your double lucky day if those fetishes intersect. [Also, gross])

Next time: We'll look at how the sliders affect more of the wrestlers, as well as how goofy looking you can make Becky look by abusing the sliders. Doesn't that sound fun??????????

Rumble Roses XX Slider Showcase

Coming this Saturday is a special video: The Rumble Roses XX Lambda Slider Showcase. One of the less-known features about Rumble Roses XX is that you can customize both created wrestlers (the Lambdas) and the pre-made girls themselves with body and muscle sliders. "Body" sliders are the body bulk; You can adjust the bust, 'body' (I think torso), hips (read: dat azz), arms, and legs from 0% to 100%. Musclewise, you can do arms, 'body' (read abs) and legs from 0% to 100%. Aside from the obvious cosmetic difference, adjusting the muscles to the minimum or maximum changes the wrestler's moves, as well as effecting how much damage each move does - the less muscle, the more submission damage you do, and the less damage you do with power moves. I think; someone leap in if I'm messing all this up.

Anyway, I like playing around with the sliders, so we're going to take a closer look at what exactly you can do with them. This week we're going to be looking at the Lambdas, who the sliders have a more noticeable effect on. To wit, I've cooked up four lambdas to represent the four different extremes you can have (zero on body and muscle, max on body and muscle, and one each of max body/minimum muscle and vice versa). Here's the cast:

Left to right: 0% all (Karen), 100% Muscle 0% Body (Blackrose), 100% Muscle 100% Body (Lucy), 100% all (Andrea).

Now let's take a closer look at each combination....

0% Muscle, 0% Body: I'm not really a big fan of this. Her arms, legs, and hips being small are all OK, but combined with the minimum-sized boob slider... look, they don't all have to be Aisha-sized Double D's spilling out the top and bottom, but it just makes it a little creepy. That's all I'm saying.

You can leave the rest minimized and turn the boob slider up, of course...

100% Muscle, 0% Body: For my money, this is the least appealing option. Just look at the versus screen picture: Aren't those arms gross? I don't get it. She looks more malnourished than muscular.
On a weird note: Look at the image on the side there - don't her boobs look bigger than Karen's, even though they're both at 0%? Must be the Body "Muscle" slider inching them up. Sure, why not. Maybe if she had 100% Muscle on her Body and the Arm and Leg Muscle sliders weren't maxed out it wouldn't be so bad. Hmmm.

100% Muscle, 100% Body: If you want muscles, this is much more like it. I'm personally not a huge muscle fan (Gina Carano is about as muscular as I like to see short of She-Hulk), but RRXX' muscles never get like gross huge. Honestly, I find this way, way more appealing than the 0% body option with the max muscles. Just check out her arms:

0% Muscle, 100% Body: Man, check her out. Not pictured: Huge thighs. Okay, I'm going to come clean right now: This is my favorite choice. So shoot me. Is it because it has maximum boob size? Maybe. Maybe this is your mom's favorite choice. Sick burn. Sick burn.

Seriously: Is this my favorite size because I like curvy women, or is this my favorite size because I like women who don't look like they can get snapped in half by a stiff breeze, or is this my favorite size because I got brainwashed by a certain poster on the old RRXX GameFaqs messageboard who kept talking about snuggle muffins and making ^_^ faces? I don't know why, but here you go.

You might remember me complaining earlier about how all the wrestling/boxing/MMA games coming out are all sausage-fests. Since it looks like UFC Undisputed is never going to have ladies and EA Sports MMA (great name, BTW) isn't going to have any this time around - and that's what was said about TNA Impact, too, and look how that turned out - I was feeling down, but, finally, here's some good news: A third MMA game! There can't be three MMA games dumb enough to be all sausagefests, right? I swear, that's all I want. I'm really hoping here, too, because the only other game on the horizon with even an outside chance is the AAA Lucha game and I'm not holding my breath for that one. The fact that I'm willing to learn how to play a MMA game, which I know nothing about, should show you how desperate I'm getting. Heck, what was the last non-Smackdown game with women in it? Facebreaker? I don't think I need to say anything more than that.

Well, I hate to keep posting bad news all the time, but here's some more: My department at work, which is normally four full time people plus four part-time people, is right now down to one full time person. Guess who that is. (big Al Gore sigh)

So the long and the short is, video production is going to continue on pace (spyware infections nonwithstanding) - but you might notice a dropoff in anciliary activity like responding to comments, etc. All's I can say is, if someone out there wants to offer me $$$CASH MONEY$$$ for recording obscure/unpopular wrestling games, well, I'm all ears.

On the flipside, I've been messing around with the Rumble Roses body/muscle sliders - expect more info and hopefully a video (or two!) about this soon. And yes, I know, I'm WAY behind on the Smackdown vs Raw videos. Some advice for aspiring Smackdown vs Raw video directors: Don't make your wife your head-co-writer, then let her get addicted to Star Trek Online. So as you may have heard, Tryfirst took down all the webpages about Wrestle Angel Survivor 2, including the crucial page that I use to actually look up the wrestlers so I can select them in the game. It's been long enough now that I don't think the page is coming back up, unfortunatly, and recording WAS 2 videos without it is going to be a major pain in the ass, if it's even possible. I haven't recorded any videos since the site went down, and my cache of in the can matches is winding down, so I'm thinking about what to do, and I'd like to hear from YOU, the viewer (upon whom, by the way, any possible blame is placed). Here's the options:

- Continue on as before: Use the translated Wiki page and keep recording matches and posting them every Wednesday.

- Continue at a slower pace: Use the translated Wiki page but record less matches, and slip WAS 2 matches into the rotation of videos uploaded on Saturdays along with SvR, Rumble Roses, etc.

- Go back to WAS 1: The original Wrestle Angel Survivor page is still open, so I can still record these.

- End recording WAS 2 matches: Annouce a end date to get your final requests in, record and post these, and call it a day for WAS 2.

- Just stop recording WAS 2 matches and post what's left in the can.

Well, more bad news, hooray: The XP laptop I use to record video's got a horrible Vundo infection. I'm throwing everything I can at this fucking thing - Malwarebytes, Spybot, HijackThis, Combofix, Vundofix, manually going into the registry and deleting the keys, killing the processes... I can't get that shit OFF. Motherfucker just replicates itself endlessly, no matter how many times I kill the process and delete the keys. Needless to say, it's also hard to record videos with popup ads for mayo getting spammed nonstop. So we'll see what happens. I guess I can always reinstall XP. Thanks a lot, BILL GATE$. (Smug Mac users and Linux fans who tell me that I LOL SHOULD'VE USED UBUNTU will be banned)

Well, let me start with the question nobody asked: Where's the rest of the SvR 10 episode? It's almost done, sry. Next time I think I'm going to record the entire story arc at once; Going a whole month (even if it is short-ass February) without Episode 2 following the first episode is, um, not good. I'm gonna record Episode 2 (and possibly 3) this weekend, unless I can't pry the controller away from my wife playing Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age, so look forward to that. Remember, the yahoo group's where you can go if you want to effect the upcoming episodes, whenever that is.

Other than that, the schedule! I'm still not sure what I'm going to do about WAS 2 ; It looks like that list of wrestlers might never be coming back up, and good christ, it's going to take a billion years to get the matches set up without it. On the comments for the original post about the matter, a helpful reader suggested using the Google-translated wiki, which is better than nothing, but, oof. (And consider that your official pat on the ass, BTW.) So we'll see. Someone suggested closing the season on WAS 2; I'd rather not, but we'll see how it goes. Might be safer to get those requests in now.

On Saturdays, there's still a ton of Rumble Roses material that'll probably be around forever. In terms of other games, I have to say I really enjoyed Hideous Playstation Boxing Game Month (KEEP YOUR GUARD UP!!!!!). Of course, after it was over, a viewer cued me into a boxing game with women I'd missed (Agetec's oh so imaginitavely named "BOXING") - would have been nice to put up on that fifth Saturday. Well, this is what I get for keeping the games I'm going to use a surprise, huh? Anyways, I got BOXING (WATCH THOSE FEET!!!!!!) off half.com for like $6, so I'll record a match from that and bill it as THE LOST CHAPTER OF HIDEOUS PLAYSTATION BOXING MONTH MOTHER FUCKER. And after that - well, heheh.

I'm thinking of doing something like a GBA Boxing Game Fortnight - as far as I can tell, there's only two games on all the handhelds (aside from Animal Boxing) that have women in them, and these are Wade Hixon's Counter Punch and Boxing Fever. I also heard they ported Ready 2 Rumble (both original and 2) to the GBC/GBA, but I don't know if that actually has any wimmins in it. Investigation pending.

The trouble with these is that I'm always looking for a CPU vs CPU mode, and I doubt any of them have it. You've probably noticed in Hideous Playstation Boxing Game Month, I always pick CPU vs CPU if I can, for a few reasons:

- I like being surprised at the match and who's going to win.

- It's usually a squash if I play against the CPU. (See the Contender 2 videos where the CPU gets pretty much destroyed)

- It's a time saver. I don't want to spend a week practicing, say, Wade Hixon's Counter Punch just to record a single good video with it. CPU vs CPU is a huge timesaver.

So we'll see. I'm not going to leave any games out for this reason, but it does kind of cool my enthusiasm. Maybe I'll just ban anybody who complains about it. (mustache twirl)

I'm still in the planning stages on this, so, please, if you know any handheld/NES/SNES/Genesis/etc. whatever games with female boxers in them I've missed, drop me a line. I'm going to leave Animal Boxing out for now; One because I don't know how well you can emulate/record DS games, and two because beating the fudge out of furries probably deserves an entire month. Holla!

If you're wondering why today's video was posted so late, YouTube was giving me some guff: Every time I went to the video upload page and entered the information, the progress bar would fill up instantly, then it would pretend to process the video for a few hours, and then tell me "lol aborted" when I went to check the video status.

Turns out the problem was AVG's LinkScanner - weird, right? A quicko Google search turned that up, so thanks, internet person. End transmission.

On the Ropes review

Yeah, thought I forgot about these? I'm just lazy. There's a reason there's a tag for posts called "laziness".

What we got here is a 3D first person boxing game. Actually, this game feels a lot like the western version of the Pine series, so I'm probably going to be comparing them throughout a little bit. In fact, these are both first-person boxing games where you nail the girl if you beat her - but where Pine is a blonde cartoon, this lady is a blonde 3D Poser model. Hmm.

When you launch the game, you've got just Tutorial, Start, and Exit. The Tutorial is, uh, a tutorial, and Exit quits. Start puts you into the ring with your opponent:

The bar at the top is her life, and the bottom is yours. During the match, buttons appear on the screen, her attacks or yours. Click on the button to either block her punch, or hit her yourself, that's all there is to it. Whoever runs out of life first loses.

The game's difficulty seems balanced just about right, which is to say I lose about as often as I win. I've found that if you have trouble, keeping the mouse moving or hovering over her face can help. Unfortunately, most of the actual gameplay is just waiting for the buttons appear, which isn't terribly thrilling. The only thing happening on the screen is your opponent breathing and your hands moving slightly while you wait for a button to show up. You can't take her top off during the match or anything like that - it's very straightforward.
I have to say I do prefer Knuckle Pine's more turn-based boxing more relaxing and easier to enjoy, but this game does rectify one of my complaints about that series, which is that Knuckle Pine is all luck - this game's all dependent on your skill. So marks for that, I guess, but I'm not a big fan of twitch reactions, which is what you'll need for the buttons.

So that's the match. If you lose, you just fall over, and she stands over you while the screen fades for like three seconds, and you can try again, or not. I'm going to make the same criticism as the Pine games here, which is, why doesn't anything happen to you if you lose? Hmph.

Anyway, if you win, your opponent gets thrown - yes - on the ropes:

Clicking any of the icons punches here there. On all these screens, you can punch her as long as you'd like, but it's the same animation and sound effect all the time, so it gets old pretty fast. (Since there's a sound effect for each button, maybe they could be randomized.)
When you're ready to move on, clicking on her chest removes her top, which gives you another menu.

Same as before, although now you can punch her in the tits, and I recommend you do, because the animation for it is hilarious. I don't know how to make an animated GIF, so I tried to capture how it looks with this screenshot, but you probably gotta see it to believe it.

Anyways, from here you pull off her bottoms, and then you can stick it in. This removes the punch icons (thankfully) and gives you two: One of a hammer - I have no idea what this does; I assume clicking on it makes you thrust faster - and one a little white fountain. Click that, and you spurt on her crying face. Nice.

And that's it, it just takes you to a "AGAIN?" screen. There's nothing else to the game; It's lacking the Pine game's endless boxing or jump straight to the end mode, which I think is a shame. unfortunately, there's basically no replay value, since there's only one girl, and only one set of things you can do to her, and you'll have to go through the not particularly thrilling boxing match itself to do them again.

Overall, I think this is a good first effort, but there's some definite room for improvement. To begin with, taking the endless boxing mode and skipping straight to the end aspects of Knuckle Pine would do alot to give the game some more bang for the buck; I also think a discount may be in order, considering the compitition - as of right now the game costs $17, which is the same as the latest Pine game, which I think you'll get a lot more playtime out of. It's hard to recommend at this price, and I think cutting it by 3 or 4 dollars would go a long way towards making this game more attractive. All in all, though, this game just needs maybe a few extra girls and a few extra things to do to them, and we might have a winner. In fact, if it's too much work to make extra girls, how about some basic things like changing her hair, etc?

Can I also make a suggestion to both this and the Pine series: How about an option to make the player a woman? We're not all mixed fans. Well, I guess that might not work in the ending. I dunno. I'm just spitballin'. New boot goofin'. Probably time to wrap this up.

Recommended? Sure, if you know what you're getting into. You read the whole review, right?

Yes, that's right, got my hot little hands on this thing. The nice surprise THQ sprung on me at the last minute is that when you download a CAW, they ship with the generic RAW entrance music, and you can't change it. Thanks. I'm beyond even getting mad about this now; You just gotta learn to accept that these guys can't do anything right without slathering on a bunch of ridiculous limitations.

Anyways, it's going to take a fair amount of playing around and creating charecters before I'm ready to debut anything. That being said, I'm going to be relying on you, the fans, for storyline ideas and matchs this year. This is a great system, for a few reasons. First is, as explained below (link), I'm not really comftorable writing a bunch of storylines with the storyline creator. Second, I'm a perfectionist and I'm endlessly second-guessing myself, so putting up polls for the fans to vote settles questions that would otherwise drive me nuts saves time and stress. Third, if it works out great, I get to take all the credit, and if it sucks, I can blame someone else. For right now, you can just leave your ideas as comments here or PM them to me on YouTube; I'm thinking of setting up a Yahoo group like M42, except that I can't think of a name for it (should've saved Ryona Kingdom for that instead of making it the name of this blog - damn it!). If you got an idea for that, drop it here too.

I will reveal that the first thing I'll want to do in 2010 is to set up the world title, specifically who has it, and probably start off with a title scramble. The sticky wicket here is that I'm not sure who's going to have the title from 2009 (haven't recorded the last match yet); Out of four possible people, I'm 100% certain two of them will be returning, but Candy Cane and Miss Nurse will both only be in 2010 if the create-a-wrestler parts for them are still in the game - and this isn't a gaurantee, given how much stuff gets removed each year! So if the champ from 2009 is gone in 2010, what am I gonna do? lol i duno. Maybe I'll say she died off-screen. We'll see.

That's pretty much it - I'll probably be updating with which wrestlers will be returning from 2009 to 2010 after playing with the creator for a while. Remember, if you want me to use a CAW you came up with, just give me the formula or put it up for download on Live; No promises, but if I like her, she'll show up in the storylines. And let's see some storyline ideas! Don't make me have to write them myself!

Upcoming shedule & games

So, just a few schedule notes today. First, the Smackdown vs Raw 2009 poll is going to close this Saturday (9/26). Actually, I don't know how to close it, but I'm going to l@@k at the results Saturday, and the top two vote-getters will be put in a No. 1 Contender Match, so get out there and vote if you haven't already.

I've been thinking about 2009 a bit, since 2010 comes out in October. 2009 will keep going thus: Whoever wins the Queen of the Ring gets her title shot, and whoever is the champ after that match will fight whoever wins the No. 1 Contender match decided by the poll. This title match will be the last 2009 match. (sheds a single tear)

2010 I'll have on release day, but it takes a long time to get wrestlers ready, so don't expect 2010 matches right off the bat. Not only that, but I'll be playing around with the storyline creator to see what I want to do with it. Honestly, I'd love to do like a Ryonaking Raw entire show, but I don't think I have the patience or booking skills for that. Well, okay, I don't have the booking skills, and I don't think fans have the patience to sit through a lot of talking before the girls wrestle. Trying to set up a match would probably just end up like this:

Wrestler 1: What's that smell?
Wrestler 2: Probably your ass.
Wrestler 1: Oh, yeah? Well, you are a stupid moron with a ugly face and a big butt and your butt smells and you like to kiss your own butt.

So I'm probably just going to use the storyline creator for little skits before a match - give the girls some personality, but not really booking a whole show. We'll see how it goes. I'm honestly just overjoyed they apparently lifted the female match restrictions. Steel cage, here I come!

Other than that, I got to thinking - there's really no new games coming out anywhere on the horizon. In fact, the only one that really has any potential at all is EA Sports MMA if they do the smart thing and get Gina Carano in there. Other than that, really nothing. It's sad - games this generation just don't include women anymore. They're not in Fight Night games, they weren't in TNA Impact (and it doesn't look like there will be a 2), they weren't in UFC Undisputed; I got nothing here.
Since there's nothing new, I'm looking back to older games - I've still got some undebuted games like Facebreaker, but I don't know how much milage you can get out of a goofy looking game like Facebreaker, or the PS1 games I have - boxing games from back then at least included women, but god, the graphics are so hideous. I see a lot of Rumble Roses XX videos in my future.
If you've got any suggestions about a game I should cover, feel free to drop me a line. My only disclaimer is I usually don't do Mortal Kombat style stuff where the girl's spines get ripped out - not really my style most of the time, and other people on YouTube seem to have this covered. Yearg!

Even more RRXX images from Xbox Live! I'm going to have to start cutting down a little, because once I hit 56 pages of images, RRXX is being all BOO HOO DELETE SOME IMAGES FIRST. Sniff. SvR 2009 Post QoR Title Match

Well, we're just about halfway thru the Queen of the Ring tournament (in terms of rounds, not matches - since Round 1 alone had I think about as many matches as the rest of the tournament!). I feel kind of bad that alot of people's favorite wrestlers are getting elimiated in the tournament, so, if the WWE can have TABOO TUESAY and SYBAR CUNDAY or whatever, I can have, um, a cheap poll on my blog. So whoever is the champ after the tournament and its concluding title shot is over will have to defend her title before 2010 comes out. You, the viewers, can vote - the top two vote-getters will have a No. 1 Contender's Match, winner gets her title shot. Anyone elimiated in Round 1 of the tournmanet, plus Miss Bunny, is eligible. Ahem:

Knuckle Pine review

And now, the first DLsite game review!
Knuckle Pine

Name: Knuckle Pine
Price: $7.64

Knuckle Pine is a very simple first person boxing game. The premise is that Pine here thinks she's such hot shit that anyone who beats her can have thier way with her, and you're stepping up to the challenge.

The game itself is, as stated, very simple. You and Pine both have life bars on the left and right side. At the bottom of the screen are four squares. Clicking on one reveals a value, 0, 1, 2, or 3. Pine also gets a number, and whoever has the higher number lands some punches and does some damage.

You can click on her chest to take her top off, and then further clicking on her chest has your boxer kind of brush her nipples with his gloves, which makes her very angry and provokes a strong counter punch.
The timer bar on the bottom counts down, and if it hits zero, the game picks a box for you - as far as I can tell, the CPU picking a box for you has just as good a chance as topping Pine's number as you do. I guess this is uh... one hand mode? Gross.

Honestly, I found the game to be exceptionally easy; I had to go out of my way to lose - I took her top off and then kept attacking her nipples until she knocked me out. (More on what happens if you win or lose later.) The game's biggest weakness, I think, is that the boxing match itself is really short - one of you is gonna be knocked out in under a minute. Pine could put up more of a fight, too, but I wouldn't want the game to be too hard. You can always get her top off and then attack her chest if you want to handicap yourself - but, again, since the matches are over in under a minute, it's kind of pointless.

So, after the match is over, one of two things happen. If you win, as promised, you have your way with her; you click though some scenes of her getting nailed. The first part where you're fingering her is in third person, then first person when you're actually giving it to her. When you're done, she's upset and punches you out, which brings up a YOU WIN? screen and the credits.
If you lose, though, nothing happens except Pine says GOODBYE BABY with her thick accent. I kind of wish something else happened when you lost; let Pine have her way with you, so to speak - have her take off those shorts and sit on your face, something like this. Maybe in the sequel.

Once you've cleared the game once, you see this screen on startup - top option plays the intro, middle option takes you right to the match, bottom option takes you right to the fucking. Actually, the middle option might make it so you can box Pine forever; After clicking it once, our life bars never went down, no matter what I do. I'm going to assume this is a feature and not a bug.

(Update: I've been told the menu options are Begin Match, Free Battle, Pine's Room - "Free Battle" must be endless boxing mode.)

Being able to choose which part of the game to go to is nice and adds a little - I don't want to say replay value, but being able to skip to the part you wants makes it a lot more likely that you'll fire the game up again. Which is good, because you'll be done with it in about five minutes. There's something to be said for not having it take half an hour to beat your opponent (with some games we'll be seeing later), but the boxing part could stand to be a lot longer. (Or you could do Free Battle.) As long as you know what you're getting into length wise - if you see yourself beating up poor Pine repeatedly - it's hard to go wrong for $7 and change. And, yes, I'm going to be dazzled by the cheap price as we go through these games.)

(I tried to get a picture of her victorious with her top still on, but even without chosing an option, Pine can't lose unless I throw the match by getting her top off and making her angry. )

Recommended? With reservations; Read the whole review instead of just this, lazy.

Do bear in mind the game has two sequels (linked in the post below this) - they both feature more stuff than this game, so you may want to consider them instead. Then again, I haven't written a review for those yet, have I? Harumph!

So, I just now discovered the english DLSite (thanks to this site), and low and behold, there's some very interesting games on there. I toyed with the idea of trying to make YouTube videos out of them, but I think in the end it's not really suitable - they're either all short, or they have nudity (damn it youtube, everyone has nipples, what's the big deal) or they're in Japanese and I don't want to deal with the endless LOL WHAT DOES THIS SAY SPEAK AMERICAN DUR comments. So instead I'm just going to review them here on my blog. Amazing, right? Here's the lineup of games I'm going to tackle (in no particular order):

rengokuring - menu-based wrestling game?
rengotougi - the sequel
Knuckle Pine - boxing game. Reviewed here.
Knuckle Pine Dash - the sequel
Kunckle Pine TURBO - the second sequel.
OL Fight - Uh, looks like you beat up a OL. Haven't tried the demo yet

Pit Viper - a spiritual sequel.
Misaki fights underground battles in the erotic wrestling - Heh, I love discriptive titles.
Fight Club WILDCAT 2 - actually, I have no idea if this is a game or not. Supposedly "This work has several ending patterns which change depending on your choice", which is good enough to get it on this list.
Fight Club WILDCAT 3 - See above.
Harenchi Wrestling: I don't know exactly what this is, but it frankly looks pretty terrifying.
Bokkoboko!!: Again, not sure if this is really a game. One way to find out. Reviewed here.

Queen of the Ring Round 2

Ahh! Round 2. I know a lot of fan favorites got eliminated in Round 1, but there's only going to be one winner, after all. Stick around and root against whoever beat your favorite! Next week will be a palette cleansing Rumble Roses XX video (probably the long-awaited Noble Rose H-Move Special), then Round 2 begins August 23rd. Enjoy it, or else.

(I'm also thinking about putting up a poll where people can vote for thier favorites elimiated in Round 1 + Miss Bunny; Top two vote getters face off in a match, winner gets a title shot at whoever the champ is after this tournament. Gotta keep that world title picture fresh!)

So, my wife's getting her gall bladder removed this coming Monday (July 27); I actually have like two month's worth of movies in the can and ready to go, so there should be no slowdown in movie posting, but I'll be taking care of her during her recovery, so if you notice that I'm not responding to your comments/messages/videos etc., you'll know why. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to stock up ginger ale and apple juice.

The Highlight Reel tool in Smackdown vs Raw 2009 is used to create spectacular matches that look totally different from a normal Smackdown vs Raw match (IE, all the boring stuff is cut out). YouTube yanked these for nebulous (look it up, kids) violations of the "community guidelines", so the link goes to his blog, where you can get the matches direct in higher quality.
Bonus points: The videos include sound clips besides the (literally) two female CAW sound effects SvR09 ships with.

Yes, this is just what it sounds like. Haxxxxxxxx are used to remove the tops of superheroines created with Smackdown vs Raw 2008. 18+, of course.
